This document provides a record of the dimensional and structural inspection of the nosecone for the launch vehicle (LV) structure.
Its purpose is to verify that the manufactured nosecone conforms to critical requirements before integration, as defined in the system specifications.
The intended readers are members of the mechanical and system engineering teams, who will use this report to assess compliance with integration constraints.
This report covers the inspection of the internal diameter, total length, curved length, payload (PL) integration compatibility, and mass of the nosecone. It does not cover aerodynamic performance, thermal protection, or vibration resistance.
2024_C_SE_ST_NOSECONE_REQ_02 Nosecone PL Hosting
The nosecone shall host the payload (PL).
2024_C_SE_ST_NOSECONE_REQ_04 Nosecone Length
The total length of the nosecone shall be a maximum of 1000 mm.
2024_C_SE_ST_NOSECONE_REQ_10 Nosecone Curved Length
The curved portion of the nosecone shall be at least 960 mm long.
2024_C_SE_ST_NOSECONE_REQ_05 PL Integration
The nosecone shall allow integration of a 5U CubeSat standard payload.
2024_C_SE_ST_NOSECONE_REQ_07 Nosecone Mass
The total mass of the nosecone structure shall not exceed 3200 g.
The inspection was performed using standard metrology tools including digital calipers, measuring tape, a contour gauge, and a digital scale.
Measurements were taken at several positions on the part to ensure consistency and accuracy. A 5U payload mockup was used to test integration.
