- The pre-conditions is a checklist of conditions/tasks which need to be performed before the main procedure in order for the procedure to be able to be performed. For example for a manufacturing procedure a precondition could be check that you have all the materials and tools you need in order to make your part.
- The procedure body gives the list of tasks/activities which you need to perform in order to reach your goal. For example a step in the body of an assembly procedure could be: "Place part A on Part B as indicated on diagram 4 and fasten with three M4x20 screws". (You can also include contigencies/back up plans in case some steps/tasks/activities do not go to plan.)
- The post conditions is a checklist of conditions/tasks to perform in order to check whether your goal has been achieved as expected or not. For example, the post-condition for an operations procedure for the structure team integrating the rocket on the lauch site could be "Check that all the screws on the external panels have been screwed in with a couple of 10Nm".
The manufacturing, assembly and operations procedures templates have been tailored in order to fit the nominal pre-conditions but feel free to add/modify the pre-conditions and post conditions.
